Hailing from South Wales, in the United Kingdom. Micky Knox, real name Tom Adamson, began his musical career during the early 1990's, whereby at the mere age of 8 years old, he started learning to master the Drums and Guitar. It was at this point that it would start quickly to move into a professional domain. Inspired by his friend Rhys Williams' father Terry Williams, whom at the time played drums for Dire Straits. Tom was given the opportunity to sit on the throne of Terry's kit, and thus see what potentially the future could hold. during this time Tom was also an avid skateboarder where he was making waves in the skateboard scene as an up and comer. He invested a lot of time into both the music & skating industries.

Every day, on the journey home from school, he would stand in awe of the drum shop that sat mid way through the route, which was filled with drum kits, cymbals, snares, and packed to the brim with all the accessories you could every need. From the first time he walked passed this shop he knew one day he would have one for his own. At weekends and after school, he would design and create drum kits out of cardboard boxes and play along to live rock band videos to practice. During this time, Hip Hop, Rap music, and the four elements evolution including Breakdancing, Spray Can Art, MC'ing and DJ'ing were rising in popularity. This became very influential in his life and was he was quickly hooked by the quality in the movement through his older brother.

In 1996, Tom finally had the opportunity to purchase a drum kit of his own, of course he went down to that little drum shop he walked past everyday and picked out his very fist kit. He began practicing intensely from the moment he got it home and religiously practiced everyday thereafter. This along with guitar lessons set the foundation for his music career. Having just moved to a new area, his mum had been attending a local church which was very music focused. On Sunday mornings he would go along to meet new people and speak to people who had the same music interests. This is where he met two friends, Simeon, who at the time was learning to play electric guitar, and Rob, who played bass. They got together and started jamming in Simeon's dinning room.

There were two drummers who played for the church band, Ian and Mike. Ian being a rock drummer and Mike, Jazz. They each offered Tom more lessons in drumming, they then offered Tom the position of back up drummer, and at the age of twelve the opportunity rose for him to play in front of an audience. Thrilled, excited, nervous and inexperienced, he attempted the live performance, but at such short notice, and unfamiliar with the songs, it didn't go well. He came away from it disheartened, but was determined not to give up. Still jamming with Simeon and Rob, they started writing their own songs and eventually had a first gig. As each individual got better at their craft, the live performances got better and better. Jared Percival, another member of the church, joined the band, and the 'Chunky Monks' were born.

They spent a lot of time writing their own songs such as, 'Don't step on the flowers' and recording on a four track tape recorder, however, it's unfortunate that the tapes from that time haven't surfaced. They performed live at various events, and soaked up as much of the experience they could. Along with others, Tom credits Jared as an influencer for his love for dance music, this is where Tom found his passion for DJ'ing. At this time, Tom's older brother had taken him to a friends house; Tim, Who had a brand new pair Technics 1210 record decks and a made 2 fade mixer, with a crate full of records and a huge speaker. Tom was given the opportunity to have a go, with his experience in drumming, he was able to pick up the mixing very quickly. Hooked by the process of Turntablism, he scrambled an old Technics belt drive turntable and an Alba stereo stack all in one and borrowed a few records, and started playing music loud in his bedroom. From that point on, he attended all the United Kingdoms DMC Championships and events involving the art.

After leaving secondary school, and being so music orientated, Tom secured a job at HMV Music Co, working in the store room. There he picked 3 for £10 stickers off CD's, for an egregious Manager. But this wasn't what he wanted to do for a prolonged period. Moving forward whilst seeking employment at 17 he found himself on a mandatory government scheme, where he had many conversations with his boss regarding his passion for music. One random day, whilst returning home on the van, his boss took a different route and subsequently pulled into the carpark of the local radio station. He took Tom in to the foyer and asked to see the resident sound engineer. Soon after, A man emerged from the staff entrance and introduced himself as Mike Winson, Micky was introduced too Mike and told him of his passion for music and how he was looking to get a foot in the industry.

Mike Winson saw a light in him that no one had seen previously. Tom was hired him as an assistant sound engineer for the Wave Radio Station in Swansea, South Wales. Working at locations all over the country, setting up and engineering the outdoor live broadcasts for the station, here he gained valuable experience in engineering and recording. This also gave opportunity to promote his own mixes and production work through the radio station. Eventually one of the presenters 'Siany' had him make an appearance on her show. The interview went well and they played one of his mixes. Parallel to this Micky was building his own recording studio in a high rise tower block in the centre of Swansea while DJ'ing at open decks nights at the Celtic Pride with Rhys Williams, who formed the DJ group, Last of the Mohicans.

From his contacts with the radio station, he met Robyn Lee, an up and coming Singer/songwriter, presenter, and fashion designer. Tom then became involved with producing and recording her demo e.p. Tom had been also attending the local MC battles at the Monkey Bar/Club and popular Drum & Bass nights, he formed connections with local MC's, producers, and subsequently started recording their demo's, and E.P's. Around 2004, and not one to follow the crowd, Tom, with the help of Peter James Dean and Keith 'Dark Horse' Powles, started creating their own Brand's 'Missing Piece Records', Beatseeker Events and Watewuptoo Entertainement. He also attended a Sound Engineering course at the local University run by Brian Breeze, gaining some qualifications in the industry.
